Intake
Hey guys, i am brand new here. And to be honest with you, i am not a ricer at all. I do have a Chevy S10 dropped and all the other good stuff. So go on and rag me for that....but in all seriousness, i have a great friend looking to throw on some extra Hp at the cheapest, is cold air intake the way to go?? and if so what brands can you trust. Theres nothing worse then going and getting something that just doesnt happen. btw, shes got a 2000 accord. let me know all ya can. Thanks guys

Well what is her budget? Most bang for her buck would be turbo. Second best would maybe be an engine swap.
CAI should give a little more than a short ram intake, thus would be the way to go. For CAI I can only recommend AEM, although I'm sure other people may recommend other brands such as DC. Other cheap ways would be header, exhaust, and pulleys. Once you add up the price of all that stuff, though, it's not so cheap anymore. Not to mention that she won't really get a lot of HP out of all those mods in combination. Every little bit helps, but it really depends on what kind of performance she's looking for, and what her budget allows. b |

Bang for the buck without spending thousands? Cold Air Intake. I can elaborate on why the AEM is the best, and BDC can elaborate on why the Iceman is the best. 8-10 hp for $200.

I could feel a difference after I put mine in (my first mod). Then again, it did have a different sound, and I never dyno'ed or timed it, so I could've been fooling myself entirely.
I think AEM (and others') dyno charts say you should be able to feel the difference. |
