Pvt. Jeremy Markham U.S. Marines
Thats right. As of today I enlisted in the U.S. Marines. It took a lot of thinking and decision making. I spent all night talking it over with my family and friends. My mother and father stand by my 100 percent. I know some of you here were not for me joining and I understand why and I appreciate your opinions. But this was something that I needed to do. I wont be leaving for about 3 months so I do still have time back here at home, to get stuff together, take care of bills, store stuff, etc. I have enlisted under Combat Arms. I have to decide soon if I am going to do Infantry/Tank/Artillery, Combat Support, or Fire Direction/Control. Am I scared? No, oddly I am not. I am up to the challenge and I am more than prepared to be a US Marine. For those of you who think that I made a gung-ho decision, I didnt. I have been thinking about this for months and months and just a few days ago mentioned it here on HS.

I think its really cool that you joined. We need many more dedicated people like you in the service right now. Being a marine is going to be tough, but you sound like you're up to it.

Goodluck man. You'll never know, we may come across each other. You have my respect. It's tough being in the military these days. You'll learn alot and you'll mature so fast!

Rocky-you'll have to be sure & get me your new address so I can write you.
I'm great at writing. My many friends in the army have said that I'm the only one that wrote them & kept writing. They greatly appreciated it. |
