Spark plugs: when to change them?

Hi, i am new to this but i have a question. How do you know when your spark plugs are going bad. Does it have anything to do with accelerating. My car is kinda sluggish when accelerating sometimes, like its going to sputter out, is that my spark plugs

yeah that sonds like spark plugs to me. also check the ignition timing, the dist cap and rotor.

If your real cheap you can take your plugs out a clean them off in kerosene or gas. Get all of the carbon deposits and whatnot off of them. If they are fouled with oil though, you should just get new plugs. they are cheap.

you will need a spark plug socket, an extension and a socket wrench. When putting them back in, make sure you don't strip the threads. And only do one at a time.
