Largest Engine in a LX?

I was thinking of dropping a b18c5, but I'm not sure it would fit within the engine compartment of a '00 LX?

Whats the largest engine I can put into the LX without major modification? (Purchasing different engine mounts is ok..)

All the b series engine are approx. same size. The biggest engine that you can put in a civic for a practical price is the H22/prelude engine.

well the '00 LX's have a D16Y7 engine.. will i need engine mounts to make a B-type engine fit?

or, will it drop in.

Its a straight drop in. You don't need to modify the mounts. You obviously need the tranny as well. So if your car is a an auto, you'll need to convert it which will add some to the cost....

your stock mounts will NOT work unless you modify them.

Are you sure there's an issue with putting a B series in as far as motor mounts go? I know the H series you need to modify them. I thought it was a straight drop in for the 6th gens....

"To fit any B-series engine into a 6G Civic, the rear mount from a 99-00 Civic Si (or 94-00 CRV) is required."

Right. But you don't have to modify anything like with a H series swap.
