H&R or Eibach pro-kit

Hi, I was wondering what kind of springs I should go with?
I was looking to lower my ride at a 1.5" max drop. I could get the H&Rs for 100 and the EIbach for 150 ish. Just needed to know everyones opinion on H&Rs cause I been hearing good things about them.
Also... how hard would it be to do-it-myself when installing the springs...

Definatley the h&r. Theyre better quality and cheaper.
They are, though, a more sporty spring. Therefore the ride quality is not going to be as soft/smooth as with the pro-kits, which are really just for looks IMO.

You do know that without changing to a shock, that will accompany the springs, the ride quality will be pretty shitty, right? Plus the stockers will last about 1/4 as long with the added drop. I suggest, if you do get the springs, to wait until you can upgrade shocks to put them on. Why do it twice?

You can do it yourself if you have basic hand tools. Be careful you dont shoot your eye out when removing the stock springs. After you finish, get an alignment. You HAVE to do that. Theyre not cheap, and they take awhile. Take it somewhere that does lifetime alignments so you can always go back for free.

but the prokits are lower... I was planning to do it myself cuz the shop is trying to charge me 100$ to install. And Im trying to get shocks at the same time too but theyre not cheap. So what your saying is the sport kit from H&R is more of a cheap quality ride than the race springs? prokits costs about 1000 from what i have seen so im either going with the sport or race. I was told race springs give you lower drop and are bumpier than sport.

No, h&r is a sportier ride....not cheap.
They are designed to be stiffer - they have a higher spring rate than the eibachs do. (higher rates = stiffer springs)
Higher rates so the car doesnt spring along the track and dip like a lincoln town car.

Race springs are for racing...I wouldnt drive them on the streets. Theyre almost all very stiff and very low. I know cali has some bad street...I wouldnt want to drive out there being that low...

but yeah.... H&R is my choice between the 2...

I have the Eibachs prokit on my 99, almost stock ride, just not low enough imo.

I agree about the pro-kit not being low enough, go with the sportlines it's about a 1.8 drop. It rides realy nice. My dad has an '01 civic with sportlines and he loves them. It's not to bouncy at all. But definately get shocks at the same time.

do not cheap out on the suspension. and as others said it get new struts with it too. you won't be sorry.

i have the eibach sportline springs, its a 1.8 inch drop, i love em, havent had any problems and the ride is smooth

i say just get real low and have good handling..... get air ride. thats what i have and i sit a 1/2 inch off the ground and can take turns going like 80 and not even slide or anything. just a little more in price..... bout 1800
