There are a few ways I've seen it done:
1) Do not connect tubing on the actuator diaphragm 2) Remove the diaphragm and actuator and weld the pivot point in place 3) Weld the gate shut 4) Remove the gate and use a 5-bolt turbine outlet flange Most, if not all internal wastegate fails in the close position which is actually unsafe. If at any point the tubing on the actuator diaphragm ever get disconnected accidentally, the result can be catastrophic since it will boost to the max efficiency of the turbo. External WG will do the same given the same situation..... |
