Need Help Asap! Pls
Ok ive just changed the clutch on the max and now after 3 weeks and 2500 miles a weird noise comes up everytime i take off and when i shift from 1st to 2nd. It sound like a blown shock but its comming from the tranny. Also just about a week ago i dragged the hell out of it, then sunday morning when i was about to go to work i steeped on the clutch and the pedal got stuck to the floor then checked the fluid and there was nothing left in there so i filled back up and it works fine. Five days after i filled it the level went down just a lil bit but it's sill over the min line. It's also leaking some tranny fluid or some clutch fluid(don't know which one). Can some one help out and tell me what the noise is and where it might be leaking from. I think its just the master cylinder again. My bro said it's the gears grinding but i dunno! Any help from anyone would be highly apreciated!

Your gears wouldn't be grinding because the actual gears never contact in the transmission - it's the gripping "dog teeth" gear that slides between the gears to connect them. But it sounds to me like:
1) Too much friction from the leak 2) Your clutch isn't fully de-clutching, thus burning out 3) Where'd you get your clutch? P.S. If you don't have a really good understanding of clutches (although I assume you do because you had the brains to put in a new clutch), then read this article. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/clutch4.htm If you do know how it works - sorry, I'm not trying to insult your intelligence. - Dzur |
