OK...I've found the answer to my problem. (sort of)

I talked to the head service tech at the local Honda dealer. He told me that all 96-97 Hondas have a mandatory federal emissions system warranty to 150,000 miles. He wants me to bring the car there so they can hook up a honda scanner and see if the same code comes up. Anyway, It'll be fixed for free.
I'll let everyone know what the dealer says when I get the car in.
