i pray to the god of bomex that I speed over rival.
the most important part is the launch, the race is won or lost there unless you mess your shifts up. Take your throttle to the end of your powerband and shift into the beginning of the next gear's.

#1 Tip: LEARN TO DRIVE
Seriously, practice launches, smooth shifting, etc. That will make more of a difference than little tricks will.

Um I have an automatic, so basically I just torque-brake... turn the OD off, put it in L and hold the brake while pushing the gas... then when it turns green let off brake, shift into 2 at 6200, then D at 6200 again, then turn OD on...

hmm...drop into gear at a decent rpm...i hear 3 is pretty good for civics (sohc). its all about a sticky surface too...if thers a lot of crap in your lane youre gonna get a shitty start...happened to me 2 days ago...frickin dried salt and I seriously lost to a talon...no surprise though...ANYWAY...what else...watch the light (if thats how youre doing it) when the perpendicular direction lanes light turns yellow get ready...stare at the light and learn which ones change to duel red and which go directly to red/green. Dont be over confident and keep the wheel straight and be sure that your camber is set right for max traction...thats all I got
Oh yeah...and know where the cops are. dont be an idiot and do it where you know cops hang out... |

not too observant eh? He's got an automatic toyota... jwfy but yeah, do make sure you know where the cops are, or at least where the neighborhood roads lead to, in case you see a cop and decide to make a few quick turns before he turns on his blues behind you (saved my ass plenty of times!!! )

Dont race with your fatass friends in the car... well you can but... turn on sport mode if you have it turn OD off and most importantly... say smoke em.. you'll win every time |

i like to add a little bit of pizzaze when I race. when I throw it in to second I kick the back end out a little. Some people don't mind loosing when you give them a show
