memmory

Hi guys i know i have asked many dumb question before but her i go with another one......... how much better is ddr ram over pc133 ram? if i can get 512 of pc133 is it as good as 256 of ddr? i found 512 of pc133 for $36 and 256 of ddr for $72. i can use either being that i havent built the computer yet. the memory is what is puzzling me. depends on what memory depends on what board i get.

Get a board that supports DDR. If you do anything intense, you'd be crazy not to go with 512 if you're building a new box. If you have to, I'd still get 256 DDR. Get QUALITY ram also. Finding the cheapest stick of ddr you can will get you nowhere fast.

Corsair is what I'm using. Very high quality. If you won't be overclocking a lot, etc., crucial is very good.

Get DDR. It has nothing to do with amoutn of RAM. DDR has a MUCH higher bandwith. I hit about 3GB/s with my board.

I use GEiL. Its been great so far. And it has a pretty copper heat spreader.
