1 - Originality
2 - Cant afford a real one, and still want to try and look cool
3 - To much time on their hands

1 - Originality : Whats the use, if you arent what you portray yourself to be??

2 - Cant afford a real one, and still want to try and look cool : Try and look cool? So someone, who would do just about anything to please/impress someone else.

3 - To much time on their hands : Ditto!

The reason why those guy's do that is because people will pay $15k to $25k for a Fiero that is really worth $2k. THe guy's that build them, sell them

Not ba but kit cars are replicas of what peopel don;t have the $ to buy outright.

I have seen some thqat are cool but it sems liek alot of $ to spend especially when it's a base car of something diff and in alot of cases could have been a better ride then if they used it for te Kit project...

sorry just rambling....

Well the reason that the Fiero is $25K is because it has a Northstar V8 swap. Personally, I'd rather drive around in a Fiero that looks almost stock, but REALLY has an LS1 in the engine bay. I've seen a couple, and believe me, more than a few people have been caught very embarassed after mistaking them for stock.
That would probably be a more fun ride than converting a Fiero to look like a Ferrari, even though it would perform like one.
But hey, that's just me. The Fiero/Ferrari DOES look pretty sharp, though.
