me against talon
hey guys. i was comin home from eatin with my girl friend i was in my 97 ex civ 5 speed with minor upgrades and she was in her sisters 98 civ ex auto. I was just gonna joke around and i tried to get a race with her when all of a sudden a newer edition eagle talon 95-on pulled out and caught the light instead of her. He had probably the same upgrades i did mabey more. He put the window down to talk (so i had to turn the NFG down a little ) the light turned and we both took off. i was totally suprised to see my car ahead by at least a half a car lenths. anyway he pulled off to get gas so i never found out what all he had done. Perhaps the car gods were on my side tonight, but i sure as heck didnt wanna lose in front of my girlfriend......again :o

Nice.
N/A Talon-Eclipse drivers sometimes tend to think they are faster than they really are. |

Yea theres no way it was turbo. I used to own a GSX eclipse and that thing would have smoked my little civ no questions.

nice story but the dude in the talon probably wasn't racing, even if his car didn't have turbo he still could have beaten the wheels off of ur EX. The weakest talon that was made fron 95- up pushed 140 hp while ur EX only pushes 115hp. Like i said he probably wasn't racing because he knew he had you. Sorry

its not the horse that matters its gearing and weight... and sorry to say but n/a talons tend to run like 17+ second's while ex's run 16's out the door..... try again.

you know what, if you say so then its gotta be tru... im not gonna start a war here, your obviously ignorant and missinformed if your picking at little .5 second discrepencies in 1/4 mile times that mean NOTHING on the street when traction, reaction time, and ROLLOUT (LOOK THAT ONE UP) time are factored in to the equation. as for the mustang pukey your entitled to it its your opinion, but its MY opinion that you would need a sr20det swap to keep up with this pile of shit 3500 doller TOTAL rustang, that includes maintenance..

Yes, your right the truth comes, out i always get duffed by imports, and especially those 240sx's (you know the ones in which my 88 cherokee dominates) because its oh so easy to break into low 13 high 12 territory all it takes is a egomaniac like yourself behind the wheel to turn any pile of refuse into a thoroghbread (sp?) race machine. btw if you dont have more than a 100 shot + your seeing tailights. i could go into details but id rather let you speak for yourself first considering its your car and i do not know about it. feel free to INFORM me.

He's right, the 420A ( 95+ NA Talon, Eclipse) is a waste of a car, I've seen many and most be happy to get a high 16 and spraying a low 15, those cars are turds and with out the Turbo just plain suck, a EX with some mods would take it, no question. On the other hand we have a guy here in OK that has a NA with the HANN racecraft 18G turbo kit, he ran 13.8 @ 107 with drag radials... GOOD KILL MAN |

That gen EX has 127hp not 115, ( a 13hp difference between the talon and civic) and those Eclipses/Talons weigh about 300lbs(aprox) more than a civic. He could easily beat that Gen DSM. |

Hmm when I had my 91 Talon TSi I'm pretty sure I could beat any basic modded EX with no mods done to the talon at all, but then again I never got a chance to race one when I had it. The turbos in those cars are damn good turbos for a factory equip car.

They are talking about the NON-TURBO 2.0 420A motor, not the 4G63T motor your TSI had. If your Turbo Talon couldn't take an EX, you either couldn't drive or were racing in reverse and didn't know it. |

im glad at least a domest can see that a normall talon/eclipse r not that fast but if it were a turbo then yes it would be another story. i knew a guy that had a talon he thought it was fast till my 4cyl ranger was running next to him

damn..such feeling....
the 420a vs the d series is no match its all about the hp to weight ratio...yea the talon weighs a lot and 420s have no bottom end what so ever so it is VERY possiable for the EX to walk him. as for a 4g63... no EX even if the talon is stock will get it. my talon is WAAAYYYYYY beyond stock but i know stock for stock its the talon all the way. |
