Which Honda to buy????
I am thinking about buying a late model crx, but I am wondering, which year and model of honda would be the best to modify? I am just wanting to have a very very fast street legal car.

CRX's are nice cause they are so light. I've always liked Integras and Preludes.

while the crx would be the ideal car for straightline power because of its weight, I'd go with 92-00 hatchback simply because it is simply a little heavier, but looks are 10x better.

really? I think the 92 hatches are ugly. The ones with the egg shaped tailights (96?) are awesome looking, but if your looking for a great platform to start from, crxs or 4th gen 88-91 civics are awesome. and the prices are good. I just read a classfied ad on here where this guy from florida has a 91 hatch std, with a lot of work done to it, that he is letting go for a 1000. Thats a great deal!

4th gen. Prelude Vtec. It has the same engine as the 5th gen. but is a little lighter.

street legal? depends on where you are. if in cali, then you would need a car with an already high perf. stock motor such as an si or gsr or itr. the only way you could legally swap would be to swap a newer motor into an older car. where are you located and what resources do you have in the area?

92-95 Civic hatchback. One of the lightest, but by far the greatest availability of parts, including motor mounts.
The absolute best Honda to buy? That's easy- NSX or S2000. I drove a supercharged S2000 last week, and had to stop and turn around to get my ass. |
