The Grudge? or Ju-On?
Well...looks like another Japanese Horror film is getting "adapted" to an american version...
Gonna take my girlfriend to see it when it comes out, but I'm questioning how good it will be when it comes out stateside...after all, Sarah Michelle Gellar is gonna be in it...I really don't know how well that will work... Thoughts anyone? I know the original is supposed to be incredibly scary. |

hehe...I don't know dood, my friend saw the japanese original and said it was damn scary.
I don't think that;'s what the american version is gonna be like though...I have a feeling it's gonna focus on a hot actress rather than scaring the pants off of ya |

Funny.
I never heard of Ju-On before, but when I saw the previews for The Grudge, I thought that it looked and felt very similar to Ringu2. I probably wont see it until its out for dvd, but if I can find a copy of Ju-On, I'll definatley see that as well. |

Ju-On was bad ass. The Grudge will suck out loud. Why? Hollywood and that Buffy bitch. I'm sorry...but Ringu was so much better than The Ring. We're also going to remake a Japanese movie called The Eye sooner or later. I bet they'll tap Jennifer Love Hewitt for that one. Seriously...people in Amerika need to realize that they're not nearly as original or talented as most Japanese directors or screenwriters. Hollywood may copiously fellate me.

"Audition" was a great film, by far worst torture scene I've ever had to watch.
and "Suicide Club" is just..weird wonder if amerika will anally violate those too? |

I gaurantee right now no one in Amerika will redo either of those films. "Audition" was good as a mindfuck, but it took WAY too long to get there. Out of the 2 hours, only about the last 20-30 minutes were really messed up. That was directed by Takashi Miike...possibly one of the best Asian directors currently working. If you want a better film from him, check out "Visitor Q". By far the most disturbed movie I have ever seen. It literally changed the way movies could make me think. "Suicide Club" a.k.a "Suicide Circle" a.ka. "Jisatsu Club" was pretty good...it just had a hard time getting where it was going while keeping you along for the ride. Plus it dealt with high school aged kids killing themselves...no way we're redoing that here which rules because we'd butcher it. All in all a great movie, but far from "Visitor Q" status. I'll tell you Darin just like I told Arnel...if you wanna mail me some blank DVDs I'll burn you any of the DVDs I have and send them back. I've got a ton of messed up Asian films.

I've seen it...thought it was ok. Good, but not great. Man...if you wanna see a really weird ass movie, go watch "Tetsuo: The Iron Man". Not one single scene of that movie made a bit of sense. I haven't seen the sequel to it yet...but I'll be watching it tonight.
