stock is fine unless yer built NA or FI.

well i have some aftermarket peices and I plan on adding more but it looks like an aftermarket ecu might pump up the timming and help out with the air fuel look up tables.

Don't worry about it now..just reset it if your worried. Unless you have a serious built engine...just leave it.

seriously, do not replace it until you make major upgrade to the engine. if you are worried about air and fuel enrichment with basic bolt ons, get an AFC. as far as timing goes, u can always manually adjust it. i wouldnt mess with the timing, unless you are getting a cam, or cam gear, or going force induction.......my 2 cents
