97+ Prelude VTEC calipers on a 93 ex.
So I heard that the calipers would bolt up to teg front hubs... I tried it on my stock civic hubs... and they fit...
They will need some spacing or grinding and I'm not sure if they'll fit under my 15" konigs... if I need 16's it's out... but if they fit under my existing wheels I'll have it done within a couple of months...

I still have to get the rotor and drill it for 4x100 and see how it fits/lines up... then I'll check to see if my 15" konigs fit over them... if they do I will work on shimming it or shaving it to line everything up...
Then it's a matter of me saving enough for some rebuilt calipers and some brembo blanks... As there is only the one caliper off the car I got this one off of. As mentioned above and over there... if I can get it to work I'll do a good write up with pictures... and it'll happen pretty fast too I hope... The car already stops pretty F'ing fast... but more never hurt.

if the 4th gen and 5th gen brakes are the same up front(off the top of my head they are... but im drunk) then you'd be MUCH better off with acrua legend brakes. 2 piston and more surface area than the NSX calpiers(which also fit, but legends seem to be the best)

There used to be an nsx caliper write-up on h-t
...I wonder if I can find it... Not that I'd do it...I'm a lot more likely to do integra calipers (even though Id have to change spindles) |

I wouldn't be swapping the master from the lude...
The 97+ w/vtec calipers are supposed to be much larger than any other lude brake... they are identical to type R calipers... They should be good enough... As far as the legend/nsx calipers... I was reading that over on h-t that the lude guys were upgrading to the legend/nsx calipers... I will check those calipers as well if I can get my hands on one... then maybe I'll do that... the biggest thing for me is NO 16" wheels... which I'd imagine would be needed with the legend calipers... Chris... off handedly do you know if a early 90's legend has the same front 2 piston calipers you're talking about? I think I'll check the one we have at work this coming week... if they're there I'll pull them off and see if they bolt up as well...

I know on EK you need to use integra or civic si spindles (si spindles really doesnt make sense to me because si and ex brakes are the same).
EG I think they go right over though |

the type R front calipers are the same as the prelude front calipers... the rears (type R) are the same as an accord wagon of a certain year... not sure exactly...
And if you check out that thread the dual piston calipers... both nsx and legend have a MUCH smaller surface area than the single piston typeR/prelude caliper... I'm kinda with you though... I'd like to see tests.

even with the correction the piston area was larger on the single piston over the larger legend dual piston...
Legend = 1 38 1 42 19*19*3.14 = 1133.54 21*21*3.14 = 1384.74 Total = 2518.28 NSX = 1 36 1 40 18*18*3.14 = 1017.36 20*20*3.14 = 1256 Total = 2273.36 typeR/prelude = 1 57 28.5*28.5*3.14 = 2550.465 Making the typeR/prelude 32.185 sq. mm. larger than the larger legend dual piston caliper... I'm still doubtful though... the only advantage to a dual piston floating caliper over a single piston floating caliper that I know of is less pad taper... but that's hardly a concern... I'm thinking maybe the legend/nsx calipers clear wheels better maybe... but I don't know.. I've been out sick from work this week... so I haven't had a chance to drill the rotor or take a look at the legend calipers we have there... but once I'm back I will.
