Gauge Cluster backlight wont turn on.
93 Honda Civic Coupe
I just replaced some of the lights that were burnt out behind my speedometer, tach and fuel gauges. I put the cluster back in, connected all the plugs and tested it. Nothing. All the indicator lights work, blinkers etc. Shut everything off, double checked all lights to make sure they were all in properly, still nothing. So then i tried swapping bulbs from the other parts of the cluster. Nothing. What is weird is that all the lights on the rest of my dash are working; the clock, and the ashtray. I went over some of the fuses, but didn't see any blown ones. Any help would be greatly appreciated, cause i have to shine a flashlight onto my gauges when i drive at night |

Do you have a multimeter to check voltages?

okay, i figured out what was causing it to not work, the thin flexible circuit board cracked at where the first light was, i soldered a new piece of wire and that fixed the problem.
however. i took apart my middle part of the dash today to fix an issue i was having with my deck not sliding in all the way. I fixed it, but now when i turn my lights on, every light on my dash is out. my cluster which i just fixed, the climate control and the shifter light (i have an auto). I checked all the fuses, which were all good. I pulled the deck back out and wiggled all the connectors i could find to see if anything would flicker. Nothing. What should i do now? |
