OBD2 to OBD1

Rocks! OBD1 P28 + APEXi VAFC hack + DSM 450cc + Hi flow cat + 10psi boost = AMAZING! I wish I've done this a while back. My civic pulls harder than ever. I had to reprogram my AFC setting to fix my idle. I got a little hesitant for a few hours since I couldnt get the 450cc to idle right. I finally got it down. I highly recommend this conversion, especially with boost. OBD1 is just a lot more tunable and less prone to CEL. Peace!

same DSM 450's. I had to set the AFC at -23% at 1000 RPM on the lo-cam to get the idle right. It seems that OBD1 runs leaner but compensates faster. Drew, what do u think about GReddy e-manage for boosted B-series OBD1? I plan to use a piggy back on my Teg...

Is the P28 the only thing you changed in your setup, or did you add the cat too?

High flow cat is installed too. GReddy profec-B is in progress. I gotta kee the boost to hold at 10 psi. My clutch is toasted. VAFC dyno tune is soon after the new clutch is installed.

Hooohaa, I'll install your VAFC hack and DSM 450cc if you want. I live in Va Beach/Norfolk area. Let me know. It should take no longer than 3 hours to do it. I'll set the initial tuning on the VAFC to get you to start boosting. Come down sometime. You are more than welcome to chill with me and my friends..... come down and see some "real" street turbo set-up..... you might even see my neighbor's B16 turbo with 573whp..... street car.

as you all know i have a 99 Civic EX and a greddy kit. now my question is: what do i need to convert my car to obd1? also, is my car obd2B or obd2A?

As far as i know i would need the following:

obd conversion wiring harness
P28? ECU from a 92-95 Civic EX

is that right?

if you guys are wondering why i'm doin' this, its because I want to run a straight pipe instead of the cat converter. i wanna hit 14s on .4 BAR so everybit helps....

You have an OBD2B (99-00 civics). You'll need an OBD1 SOHC VTEC ECU... P28 from a 92-95 civic/delsol. You will also need a conversion harness. The cheapest one is from Boomslang fab. They are usually in www.groupbuycenter.com and cost $75 shipped.... at least that's what it cost me.

You really dont need to convert, eventhough I would if I was you. OBD1 just runs way smoother for my 99EX. You can always use an O2 simulator on the secondary to avoid CEL. It's weird man. I know a few people who are not using simulators and still OBD2 but no CEL even with a test pipe in place of a cat-converter. My friends 00EX with a 19t is like that for a while with no CEL on the secondary O2 code.

BTW: He dynoed 221whp/195 tq on 10 psi on a hot ass weather. I was very impressed. I told him to "shit can" the e-manage and go Hondata S200b + 440cc injectors.... We havent had any luck with the e-manage so I convince to just sell it. He raced and EVO VIII on a 45 mph roll and kept up........

also, make sure that you get a stock P28 ECU. Dont get fooled with a chipped p28 running whatever program like Mugen, Spoon, Skunk2, blah blah. The reason being is that it will screw up the setting and inputs of what your emanage is trying to do. Goodluck pare
