Attempting a DIY paint job...
I know...I know...but I'm poor.
The results CAN be acceptable though, and I'm only looking to do the hood and roof. HOOD: I'm planning on sanding it down, and trying the three stage paint kits from Advance Auto? Anyone ever use anything like this? results look ok? I figure it can't look worse. Should I even use aerosal paint, or rent a pro paint system? ROOF: This won't be easy, because I have to work around the moonroof. Should I remove it (undesirable), or tape over it? Anyone ever do this before? About how much time (in days) should I allow myself to do this? Can I buy bulk cans of clearcoat? |

If you have to do it yourself then make sure to take your time and be careful. Tape the moonroof over. It will be easier than removing it. I would rent a paint sprayer and set aside a few days to complete the job. Hope everything works out!!!

if i were you id slide the roof back so its open, or is the moonroof the kind that only tilts up?
ok well if it slides back into the roof, id do that and then tape up and mask the open hole this way the sun/moon roof doesnt get overspray on it. otherwise, if it only tilts, just leave it closed and mask it off. and yeah, take your time....a lot of time. RENT THE SYSTEM, much better, things go a bit faster as well that way. but dont rush. |

Yeah, I'll have to do a little research first. I gotta find a garage I can occupy for a while too. Thanks guys, I'll definatly stay clear of aero cans.
