Guys can you please explain a couple of things to me...What does compression ratio have to do with anything? Also explain what headers are please? Thanks

Compression ratio is the ratio that the pistons move at, for example 9.5:1, 11:1. I really dont know how to explain it but for an all motor you would need high compression, like 11:1, or 13:1. For turbo you would need low compression, 8:1, 9:1. Headers connect to the engine head and it gets rid or hot air which would come out of the exhaust. also gives you horsepower boost depending on size of it.

Why would lower compression ratios be better for a turbo..Is it because if you high a high compression ratio and turbo..the pistons would be overworked and burn out?
