Printer Help!!!
Ok i have this printer and i don't have the software for it and instead of going to the hewelett packard website first, dumbass me hooks it up via usb and just assumes that i'm going to have the driver for it which i don't. So i go to the hp website and find my appropriate driver, and follow the instructions (wait for the dialogue then hook up printer) however when i hook up the printer it doesn't detect it, although the screen says that once i hook up the printer and it's on (which it is) that the installation will proceed. SO i'm wondering if there's a way to make the computer forget that i ever hooked up the printer because i'm pretty sure it saved it as an unknown usb device. please help if you need more info just ask but i think that's about it.

Go to control panel --> system --> device manager and uninstall the printer. Then try again

Won't you have to unplug the printer first to do that? I had a USB device I uninstalled awhile back and didn't unplug it. I ended up losing control of my USB ports completely. Couldn't hook anything up USB-wise after that. But that was my old computer. Fuck that thing.

Yeah, unplug it so it doesn't find it again... but it shouldn't mess anything up if you don't...

what OS are you on? It better not be 95, did you install the device drivers BEFORE going to add a new device and actually connecting the printer?
