me vs. supercharged 5.0 notchback
omfg this has to be the dopest kill EVAR!.
well it was race night on wednesday night, and i went to dunkin donuts to see if there was anyone who wanted to race... well i started to shoot the shit with this kid i raced before in a supercharged notchback 5.0, and he wanted to race for money cause we raced before and he always owned me, eventually i said for fun street tire vs. street tire (his car runs 11.90's on slicks, it has a s-trim huffing 8-10psi, full exhaust and 3.55 gears)... so i wait for him to go to his house and swap cars... he comes back and we set out to race. so knowing i was gonna get dominated i took a passenger along (aj1978ta) from this board , and we go to the 25 connector.. we line up at a stop and i honk 3 times, off the line i hooked pretty good and nailed 2nd and looked back to see the notch trailing, all the while the whine getting louder and louder... tryed not to concentrate on the rearview, but on shifting, but the headlights never got brighter lol.. i actually had him by over 1 car to 120mph!!! next we line up from a 20 roll, and take off even after 3 honks.... we were even in 1st, then in 2nd he dropped back a hood, then a car... then he stood there throught 3rd and i missed 4th so he ended up passing me but i shut down.. next was a 40 roll, and on 3 it was pretty close, but i ended up pulling just enough so i could "safely" pull in his lane to avoid hitting the car in mine ... i was dying, and aj was like WTF!!.... go back to D+D and he comes over and doesnt even say good race, but actually says "i couldnt catch any traction, let me go get my slicks".... i couldnt believe it.... i actually thought he was trying to sandbag me into running him for money but he was ACTUALLY trying!! well its safe to say i love my car

Not full slicks then. Something like mickey ETs or something like that which are DOT approved street tires. Actual slicks would tear to shit on the regular road. Plus they don't do a whole lot of good unless you soften them. |

nope they were e/t drags, usually when he anticipates a race, or if its at night hell drive around regardless. and trust me ive driven my e/t drags on the street before and i still got sideways in 1st DOWN my hill with 28 x 10's i know how they react. its sad though that slicks is worth just about 1 second in the 1/4 mile with his car lol!

Well without slicks my car is uncontrollable... I can burn the tires all the way down the track.. but right now without a beefy rearend, I will tear up my rear with slicks.. |

Update:
He ran the S/C notch again, this time the notchback had slicks and some more tuning. Ford50forlife: OWNED. The notch destroyed him from a stop, and then a roll. S/C notch owns you. |

I don't know what they were, maybe M/T ET streets or drag radials.....All I know is the 1st time around he used regular tires to make it even, but this time he had some that actually hooked.

Nice kill... he should be able to drive better on street tires though... that's a fair kill... maybe you'd have him if you ran some slicks or street radials...
That thread that was on some other site of the turboed b16 beating a z06 the guy in the z06 said the same thing... the guy in the b16 had slicks and the z06 didn't... he said if he had slicks he would've won... (so did the driver of the b16...) the z06 wasn't getting any traction of the line... one of the cops who lives at my buddy's apt. building has a s/c'd fastback... it's pretty sick.. the whine is REDICULOUS even at idle... it's pretty fast though... nothing too rediculous.
