Dead 99 Civic si
i got stock i/h/e 99 civic si and my car won't start. I started my car this morning and then it died on me. What could be wrong. I checks my spark plugs and gas all over them

so when you crank it it doesn't have any spark ? that could be a dead coil or igniter. i know early 90's hondas are very notorious for those kind of problems.

gas all over the spark plugs? Engine might be flooded, try new plugs

uhhhh yea if there is gas all over the spark plugs then you arnt getting any spark..

your coil is done, it's pretty commono now for us to see coils go bad. pull the coil out and take the cover(gold thingy) off of it, if you see alot of blue discoloration or a round mark discolored in the center your coil is toast.
replace the coil then hold the gas to the floor while you crank it. this will clear the flood out of the car. Jeremy |
