Switching Tranny

My sister in law gave me her 96 civic ex but it has a automatic transmission. I hate driving it with the sloppy automatic. What i want to know is how easy or hard it would be to switch the tranny to a 5 speed.I know my way around the car but never worked with a transmission before. If anyone has done this before or just may have information on some prices or anything that will help me out please do so.

thanks in advance

Im not to skilled with cars knowledge yet, but I will give this one a shot. From what I have gathered on this site, you should not mess with switching over the tranny, and would be better of getting a ride with a manual already in it. I could be way off on this answer, but that is what I have read in the posts on this glorious site.

I'll agree w/ HondaBob on this one.

I had a probe w/ Manual, and inquire into a switch,..... Everyone said... go buy a stick....

If it's a Sloppy Manual, get it checked out by a TRANSMISSION shop.. I had mine overhauled... and it ROCKED!
