well alot of times the names have meanings behind them...as in all the well known planets have names of greek or roman gods
and Sedna is the inuit goddess of the sea

We've been looking at Mars for a decade now... we've had two rovers on Mars for quite some time and many satelittes orbitting taking pictures... NASA has spent billions looking for water on Mars...

This is true...but billions of dollars in NASA money means 2 or 3 "missions" of questionable importance (read: rovers that don't "rove"). I'll give them credit for getting shit to other planets, but it's gotta work once it's there. If I failed at my job half as much as NASA does, I would've been fired years ago...and people aren't throwing billions of dollars at me to do my job.
