all i have to say is 350Z!!!
not to mention it's based off the 3.5L vq series engine which i think won some sort of award, and since i also own a maxima which runs a destroked version (vq30de) i know that it is very torquey and has big top end nut. Raise the displacement and mate it with a 6speed tranny and the awesome 350 z body and you have a combination for performance, style, and potential to have wet-panties thrown all over your car. Not to mention there's some nice performance mods out there and i think the as tested price is usually around 32k ish. |

This would be my choice too. I would say wait till '06 and buy a Cobra (there won't be one in '05), but that'd probably overshoot the $30K limit by a tad. My brother's planning on an '05 or '06 GT.

Not necessarily. It's owned by GM but it's like a satellite company...the same way Ford owns Jaguar or Land Rover. It still has it's own management, soppliers, etc. so I'm sure nothing will change. I wouldn't even be suprised if GM actually tried to increase the prices just to milk it for all it's worth. Like the Hummers. The H2 is a Hot Wheels car compared to the sort of "missle attack...what missle attack?" original Humvee (now the H1). Those things were practically indestructable...they were NOT grocery getters.

Umm. Gas. Insurance. Lack of room. 3 strikes! Your OUT! Well I was going to just drop the entire idea. I gave myself the weekend to calmly & logically think about. And I had decided against getting a new car now. Well then I get a call today at 4pm from the sales man. He just got an EVO in off lease or trade (not sure) with ~7000 miles on it. And to top it off, its the silver color with the moonroof. The same exact setup that I test drove. *sigh* So I'm going in tomorrow at lunch and seeing what kind of magic numbers they can give me. My fiance is gonna kill me. I haven't even had the Eclipse for a year. I had my 2 previous cars for about 2 years each. Then again I regretted getting a convertible about a week after I had it. Don't get me wrong the car is FAST. Especially with the minor upgrades. I don't have issues with alot of the cars around. My logic has shifted to needing space. Damn I guess I'm getting old.

The WRX STI has a poor engine reliability review, so really check out the EVO's report.
Its fun to have a really tuned car, but you don't want to be at the garage every month. What's happening to VW, they are getting horrible engine reliability ratings. I would of reccomended a vr6 jetta, but I hear from many resources that its reliability is questionable. RSX TYPE A-SPEC has a good backgorund when it comes to reliability(Integra), and it should be fun to drive. But two doors. Maybe in Ohio there are used RSX-Type S's, could help you save some cash. Remember to check the rate to finance a new car and the rate the finance the old car and compare the amount you end up paying the loan creditors. |

Well...
Subarus have always gotten bad reliablity ratings. Not sure why. Same with VW. As far the 'really tuned car'. Ever owned a DSM? If you lapse on the regular maintenance, you'll know. These cars need regular lovin'. That said. I came to my senses and decided to keep the GS-T. I'm just going to keep it till it falls apart or blows up..... or both. So up next is the exhaust & coilovers(never installed the skunk2's i had). ....so hondaman needs to hook a brutha up!

most VW's are made in Mexico and the VW GTI is made in Brazil. There bolted together, that could be why there quality has decreased. I guess WRX's problems come from making there engines so tuned. I guess they are still working on the refining part.
What about a TSX 6 speed manual ?It's got some torque and horsepower. Its much heavier than a RSX TYPE S that the only thing I don't like once you start moving up the model lineup. There's a new golf R32. I find it pretty nice, I'm not sure whether its made in germany. The MSRP is 29,100 so I'm pretty sure its more than 30k when you go to the dealer. |
