hmmmm little help please

alright so im driving my car and the battery light starts blinking and then about 15 minutes later it dies..........at my house i jump it and the i let it run there for about 15 minutes so whatever it is can recharge (im not good with cars) but then instead of recharging it just dies again.......would this just be a totaly dead battery or does it sound like somthing is wrong with my alternator? thanks

blah im so stupid with this kinda stuff

might be just D-E-D dead...(cant be the charging system because you charged it directly...)

my grandfathers car was doin the same thing.. the altanator went out.. killed the bat.. so we got a new one and put it in there. killed that one.. so we put the alt in, and everthing was happy.. the end..

Get the alt. checked, and if it is take it to an alt shop and have them build for high amps. I had mine built to 180 amps.

wait wait wait...

idle WILL NOT CHARGE THE BATTERY...

you need to drive the car above 3500 rpms for over 30 mins.

If that does not charge it then it's probobly dead but still not for sure...

Although with the way you described it... it does sound like the alternator is going bad as the battery died during normal use... which normally only happens when the alternator is bad or a connection is working it's way loose...

your best bet is to get it to an autoparts store that tests alternators... like Autozone or pepboyz...

anywhere from 60-1000.... the 1000 is more of a joke but incedentally my buddy's shop just called up volvo today on some limited run car and they quoted them 1000 bucks retail... I almost sh!t...

should be around 100-200.

my car did the same shit when the battery went out. we jup started it and it worked fine for 5 minutes then it died again. replaced the battery and it's still going today after 1 year (it's about to die again)
