Do you have the fastest Accord?
I was just curious who had the fastest Accord in this forum. I know that Accodian's are race cars, but still, we can hold our own.
Please post in this format: Your name(optional)? Car (year, sedan, coupe, or wagon, engine, tranny)? Performance mods at the time? What track ran out? R/T? 60' Time? 1/8th mile @ what MPH? 1/4 mile @ what MPH? Any times run on a G-Tech need not apply, and if you post REALLY low times, be ready to be able to provide proof via picture of the time slip. -Ducky

Car: 97 Accord Sedan, 5 speed F22b2 Mods: basic mods + engine work+ECU, (no blueprint or head shave).NA. Track: Napierville Dragway, Quebec, Canada R/T: .225 60': 2.320 1/8: 9.974 1/4: 15.527 @ 91.271mph I was silly to invest in this motor.. I guess its just Accord pride.. Oh and this car can pull harder than many at higher speeds. But as you can see, the 1/4 mile is crappier than most..

60 2.463 1/4 16.79 Auto cai, header, exhaust, plus 200lbs of stereo stuff. Dukydos how the hell did you pull a 15.9 with just I and E thats pretty good. Ive never seen those accords run that well with those mods. Congrats. Im not doubting you at all. I know hondas engines can differ. Some are good some are ok and some are awsome. Theres a 5th gen here with just I and a muffler pulling 15.9s no joke. |

I don't really know what to say. I got the car with 70k miles on it from a traveling sales man, so I doubt he modded it any. Even though I've given it a beating, it has always run really strong. As mentioned earlier, I hope to run a dyno tomorrow at the Tuner Bash, if the price is right...

here well let me help you... first of all those look just like 6th Gen V-6 coupe numbers. you're in a DX not even a EX with a CAI and catback exhaust. you didnt even mention what type. im gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and say you went with a AEM and a Greddy exhaust. stock your hp is 135 and tq is 145. with those mods alone you'd maybe be just at where a EX starts. are you sure about those times? |

yeah a F23a5 got it. im not trying to call you out but i know guys with 70 shots and lude tranny's that are still running mid to high 15's with a F23a1. you have a 3000lbs car with maybe 130hp to the wheels. and thats generous for a DX engine with 2 mods and your're running a 15.9? a time slip and a dyno print out would definitely help. |

As soon as I can find the time slip, I'll post it...
(Another thing to take into consideration is that my rims are only 14"s and light as hell, definately helps)

It's all about the 60'. You can have a 20minute R/T, and still run a 16sec. The time starts when your front wheels move.

NO. You can take a minute and then go. The time starts when you start going.

lowandslow is partially right. In the NHRA, the time is started when the light goes green and the R/T is taken into consideration on the final 1/4 mile time.
By the same token, most tracks have the time start when your wheels leave the start line (as in my case.. you can look at the bottom of my slip and it says "AUTOSTART: OFF". If it were ON, the R/T would be considered. Just to prove my point, check this video of the Titan Supra. The driver has a horrible R/T (of more then 1 sec.) but still has a time of 8.9. If his R/T mattered, the time would be over 10 seconds. Check the vid yourself: http://highboost.com/movies/TitanRace/titan890a.mpeg Either way, here's the time slip that you vultures have been waiting for. I am in the right lane.

Well, I've been to Moroso Raceway and NOPI Nationals in Atlanta, and those track had the same set-up. I think it's more for a test and tune of the car, and not to gauge the driver's skill.

if your goign to keep the accord for show you could always do a crx for go. A lot faster only problem is its alittle bit harder for swaps especially an h22a lol.
