AT to MT?

Have any information on this? I have a 99 GS and was wondering if it's worth it to do? I can't see myself spending too much money on it just so I could have a manual car, because I could probably save money by selling my car and just buying a manual one.. But it'd just be alot less fuss (hopefully) to do a swap.. What parts would I need? How much? and how much would labor cost? Was hoping someone on here has done this before

It's not really that hard to do it. It just takes time. Contrary to popular belief, if you look under where the pedals are supposed to be, you'll notice that the mounting slots/holes are already there. You just have to mount the actual pedals. The mounts and firewall penetration holes are also already there.

So you'll need these:
-clutch pedal
-brake pedal (the auto ones are too wide)
-manual tranny with VSS sensor
-passenger side tranny mount
-passenger side torque mount
-starter
-axles
-hydraulic tubing assemly
-slave cylinder
-shift linkage
-shifter
-center console
-clutch switch
-ECU

^the list is just the minimum. I'm sure I'm missing something else. Obviously you'll need other small stuff like nuts and bolts. The best thing to do is visit your local junkyard and acquire as much parts as you can from the same year Teg or 2nd gen. My friend and I did one on an EK (EJ6 actually). It was pretty easy since the parts from 92-00 civics are pretty much all over the place where I'm at. I think you can use some parts from a civic also, but I'm not too sure about that. Goodluck man......

While you're visiting everyone, stop by[er, drive cross country] and say Hi and I'll make you some adobo, Therm.

I always figured it was convenient to buy a manual vehicle rather than doing the swap..unless you have heavily tuned your ride.

well i think it's harder and harder to come by manual cars lately. whoever has them will hang on to them, so the only solution is to do an automatic to manual swap. i could never find a 5 spd accord in cleveland for sale, but they are all over the junkyards. same goes with my integra

Manual cars here in Ga come out the behind.. I shoulda got one when I got my civic in July.. but because of my messed up pelvis I didnt and now I highly regret it. I thought about doing a swap but since I am looking to get a supra.. I figured Ill leave the civic auto like it is.
