Cams
I have a D16Z6 motor and I do not know which cams I should install. I plan on doing many mods except a turbo. What I am thinking about is a stage 2 COMP cam. Please anyone have any ideas or what cams do you have? Thanks Jason

Your best bet is to select a cam manufacturer and give them a call. Tell them what your goals are with the car and they will point you in the right direction as far as cam size and stuff.

i like the skunk2's too. i'd go w/ skunk2 stage II w/ skunk2 valvetrain. its a good idea to get a new valvetrain w/ stage II, III... cams.

skunk2's aren't out yet.
Zex, which is made by compcams, is the best sohc cam out right now. |

yep, you are right, for some reason i thought they were out. one reason to upgrade the valvetrain w/ the stage II's is that the manufacturer recommends it, and it is never a bad idea to follow the advice of the people putting the product through many tests. another reason is the stock valvetrain will not be very reliable w/ the more aggressive cams, so it is a good idea to go ahead and replace the valvetrain at the same time to avoid any headaches. it is also easier/quicker to do both installs at once. |
