I'm not interested in making the fastest honda..I just want it to be faster without a turbo yet....I heard that the better swap for it would be a gsr engine then the h22a. is this true

you'll end up with a faster car if you go with the h22 motor but its a harder swap and requires extra stuff to be done properly.

the GSR motor is easier to swap in and is a tad lighter.

neither of these swaps can be done for under 3k$ though.

I still say turbo the d16z6 that you got. If you swap in some aftermarket pistons/rods and get a good turbo/fuel setup 300wheel HP is not that hard. Which is more than most people need in a civic.

after all was said and done I got my b16a (jdm sir2) for just a tad over 3k. that included some new axles and some labor charges

if you do a swap get an LSD tranny, I did and I'm happy I did it. If you want to go turbo right away alot of people get the teg LS motor because it is more turbo ready (lower compresion) and it's alot less then the gsr.

check out www.hondaswap.com it's a great forum and there will be people on there that have allready done everyswap you can imagine
