Some new pics of my friend's car
Alright, alright...I know this is a Honda board but this forum has been a little slow lately and I just got some pics of my friend Ryan's current setup. Admire the 408 cubic inches of Procharger F-1 blown goodness.
And that engine (which apparently dyno'ed around 1200hp with a blower mount that's not up to the task) sits in this '86 Capri that looks more stock than it has any right to. The thing ripped off low 8s on those (relatively) skinny rear tires. It's down right now getting a better blower mount and ported/polished Edelbrock Victor Sr. heads so he's looking for 1500-1600hp next season. Now I will hunt Ryan down and kill him for his car.

Usually when people do that, they mount have a water-air IC inside the car, either riding shotgun or behind the dash and that routes straight into the intake. I haven't seen the car in a while so I don't know the specifics of his setup now. It's not terribly uncommon with race-only cars (although Ryan is just dumb enough to drive it on the street). As for the power levels...huge exhaust, HUGE cam, huge blower, stroker motor, huge heads, huge intake, DFI kit...not hard to make that much power if you don't drive the thing on the streets. And yeah...it's got some real $$$ in it. He worked as head painter at a body shop for a long time (making something like $35K-$40K a year I think) while he was living at home so he saved a ton of money. He's also got a Procharger D-1 blown Cobra (a '96 or '97 I think) unless he sold it.

I talked to Ryan's younger brother last night and he was telling me that apparently the car is now sponsored by Procharger so now it makes more sense. I guess Ryan's still working as head painter and making around $70Kish per year. I guess the Capri gets driven around by Ryan's other toy...a Powerstroke F350 with a 25' enclosed trailer. I sooooo hate that motherfucker now.
