cold air intake
ok,
i have decided to go with the CAI however i am getting conflicting reccommendations from the local shop. i know most of you are reccommending the CAI from AEM. however, i am a beginner and am not very mechanically inclined when it comes to autos, but i am learning. how easy is it to install in a 4cylinder 1995 accord ex sedan? do they make one specific that i can bolt right on or is it going to involve drilling etc? for me the best choice is going to be a CAI that performs well but is easy to install. also, do these things come with instructions or not? advice? thanks! |

Re: cold air intake
They are pretty easy to install. Takes about 20 minutes or so. they do have instructions, but I also suggest getting a Haynes manual because they are more detailed about removing the old intake. As far as drilling, no drilling is required. They are made specifically for for the car.

It is a direct bolton, you will need to remove the factory air box though. Very easy install. I had mine in my trunk before I had it installed and went to my mechanic for something else. He offered to install it for $20, so I said sure.
I could have easily done it myself though. Just follow the instructions and ask us questions. As for getting an AEM, I wouldn't get any other brand. There is no drilling, it does come with pretty good instructions. I don't even jack my car up to clean the filter. If you are dropped, you will have to jack it up to install and clean the filter.
