how do i remove window tint?

'sup guys. i bought my civ in philly where 60% tint is legal, but i live in NJ where it is not. i called up a couple auto glass places on tint removal prices and my lowest offer is $60. i'm wonderin' if it's worth it, or if it's a do it yourself project i should be tackling myself. has anyone taken tint off windows b4 that can give me some advice? i want pro-quality results, so takin' it to get it done is still an option.

And plenty of time. Except for the back window removing tint isn't really a difficult task, it's just tedious. I'm not sure if you'll be better off removing it while the tint is hot or cold, but I think hotter is better for removing it.

Basically just get under and edge and try to peel it away as cleenly as possible. Some glue will still reside on the window and some goo gone (or whatever your favorite stuff is) and a razor blade will do the trick to remove it.

I used soapy water and razor blades to remove the tint. Afterward, I used Windex to clean up.

Good luck gettin that stuff off. I have used some adhesive tape remover to take off stickers and stuff, it works real good. Goo gone should do the trick.
