woox

Im finally back in the market for subwoofers.
I dont want a big huge box that weighs 50lbs, an amp that weighs another 5, or window-shaking thumps.

Im looking at powered sub units and am really concidering the Kenwood Woox.

The problem is I cant find any places around here that carry this unit for me to listen to it.
Anyone have feedback? Yeah, all the reviews say its great, but Id rather hear it from people I actually talk to.

It does sound pretty good.
I mostly listen to classical music, loud enough to not hear too much environmental noise. The problem I have with this unit is that it's always working hard. The deisgn is very efficient, but the size of the drivers are quiet small.

If you listen to music with deep bass, forget this unit. You'll fry it in no time. For rock/classical it can work, provided you listen at to low to moderate levels.

Well that answers that then...no rock going on in my car.
What about other powered units?

ive got a decent setup im very happy with. i got a 10' rockford sub with a pre-fab box and an amp bolted onto it. all in all it weighs maybe 25-35 lbs. and with unhooking 3 wires it pulls right out of my trunk like it was never there besides the brackets that hold it in place.

Thats where its expensive too though.
Roughly 100 for the sub, 50 for the box, another 75+ for the amp.
The Infinity basslinks can be had for 150 on ebay

yeah well you get what you pay for, id say just buy a preloaded box of ebay, and a mono channel amp, shouldn't run you more than $500. installing it is easy, just running wires gets to the problems
