Ingalls Rear Camber Kit Installation 92-00 Civic
Ingalls Rear Camber Kit Installation for 92-00 Civics
By Civic_Addict Some of you may be asking “Why would you write a How-To on such an easy install?”. Well the answer is simple. Not everyone knows how to install a camber or even really what’s involved. I know I have seen several posts on various boards about the difficulty of this installation and it seems most don’t even know what the kit consists of. They just know they need it. I take no responsibility for any damages that may occur. The instructions are provided as a guide. Also you may have to cut and paste the links below into a new browser window to view them Tools Required: 14mm Socket Ratchet & Extension (6” or more) Hydraulic Jack or Lift Jack from Trunk or an extra jack Tire Iron from Trunk PICTURE Step One: Jack car up using either hydraulic jack or lift and remove tire. Step Two: Ingalls says to remove one bolt at a time. Well if you do that you won’t be able to slide any spacers on the new bolts. Remove both bolts from the arm. This will be located near your spring (as you can see in the picture). You might want to loosen them both prior to actually removing them. Set the OEM bolts aside. PICTURE Step Three: Each spacer will provide +1/4° of camber adjustment. So pull out your alignment sheet that you received when you had your car aligned (you did do this prior, right?). Look at the SPECIFIED RANGE area. This is where you need to be. Now look at the ACTUAL area. Now figure out what you need to add to that number to get into the SPECIFIED RANGE. It’s a negative number in the ACTUAL area so add until you are in the SPECIFIED RANGE. Ok now the hard part is done. PICTURE PICTURE Step Four: Now that you know how many spacers you need, you need to install the new bolts & spacers provided. The spacers go behind the bracket that’s attached to the arm. If you have trouble getting the suspension to move up when aligning the bolts, use the other jack. Place it under the lower control arm (connects behind the rear brake drum) and jack it up just enough to align the bolts. Do not jack it up too far. Install the new bolts and spacers. The proper torque spec on this is 26ft/lb. After you complete both sides, you'll want to get an alignment once again. Its not neccessary, but is good to verify that you have the correct camber.
