My car idles retarded.

Sooo, I'm the one with the leaky distributor also, my car is action PACKED with problems. Since the very first day i got it, when you turn it on it idles from like 1 to 3. then when it would warm up it would be fine. now its worse and even when its warm it goes from about 1-2. i had my air idle control valve replaced so its not that. what else do you think. i heard this was common for preludes, any takers??

does it oscilate like crazy ? it's a vacuum leak, an idle set way too high, or a faulty IAC

It just goes from 1 to 3 then back to 1 to 3 bla bla ba until its warm. when you said it might be the iac, did you mean aic? im thinking it might be a vacuum hose, but when you have a honda your engine is vacuum land so its tough to really know where.

Hey..when it's idling...are you running the air conditioner at the same time?...
Cuz my civic did that..i haven't driven it for like a year...but it used to do that...it might still do it...
try turning your AC off if you have it on.

No it's definitely not that. I have 3 inches of snow outside of my house right now so i try to keep my hands off the ac button haha but even when its hot out and the ac is on it still does it, i think ive pressed every god forsaken button in my car. I'm sick of this piece. It got broken into and hit while parked in boston yesterday. would anyone else like a stab at it?!?!

Common problem, it is a Vacuum leak, most H23's tend to get them around this time of year. Believe me, I have had to fix about 12 of them at the shop since last year this time. Just check all the lines running to the ThrottleBody to make sure none are leaking.
