Help with maint. on '00 Accord 2.3 litre I-4
I have a buddy who owns a 2000 4 door Honda Accord with the I-4 Vtec engine. We need to perform the 60k maint. on the car. I have searched a bit and not been able to find firm answers to the following questions:
I am curious if someone can make a reccomendation as to what kind of plugs (NGK?)/wires(Stock?)/rotor botton/cap to use? Where can I locate these the cheapest? Is there an online dealer to use? Where is the fuel filter on this car located? What type of tranny fluid is needed in the case? GL4 or GL5? Do you pull the sensor to fill the tranny? Should the timing belt/water pump be replaced at 105,000 miles as the manual suggests? Or should this be done sooner? Brake pads? What are the best to use for everday driving? No racing, or SCCA events. I would appreciate any, and all, feedback that any of you may be able to provide. Pics from an FSM would be GREAT! Thanks, Curt B. Shumaker |

well i don't think it's worth buying the plugs/wires online. they can be found relatively cheap at the local parts store. as for the rotor and distributo cap give summit racing a call and look for the crane distributor kit. they make a stonger rotor and distributor that won't get shot that easily. the fuel filter should be on the passanger side on the firewall in the engine bay.
