Changing the backlighting on the accord coupe
Hi,
Does anyone know how to change the dash and climate control backlighting on the new generation accord coupes? I really hate the puke green that comes stock, and the best anyone has been able to come up with so far has been to paint the bulbs! Does anyone know if I can get replacement bulbs, say, in blue? And where I could go to get these? Thanks P.S. Does anyone have the indiglo gauges for the new accord? Do they look better than the all-white ones? |

Hi!
My friend has indiglo gauges on 2001. Looks good. He has the midnight blue lighting. From where in Canada are you?

Thanks for the warm welcome AZN...
I asked my Honda dealership, they said there was no way to do it! They said that the bulbs for 2001 were a different part number than those for previous years, meaning there had been a change. They suggested painting the existing bulbs. Are you speaking from personal experience? What year is your accord? Accord Man: When you say indiglo gauges with midnight blue lighting, are you refering to the backlighting, or the indiglo gauge? Is the midnight blue lighting the same thing that AZN is talking about? By the way Accord Man, I'm like you...chillin in Mtl. |

I was talking of the indiglo gauges. But the version with the Blue lighting, not Green.
I'm pretty sure AZN was talking of just the bulbs, keeping oem gauges. So instead of seeing the numbers in green, you'd see them in the color of the bulb that you chose. http://www.autotoys.com/New_Tech/DIY...accord_kit.htm I'm pretty sure the 2001 Accords follow the same pattern..

Yeah, I have a 5 color indiglo gauge kit that's pretty sweet, but I think it would be really nice to change the dash lights also. If you can't do that, go for the indiglos.

Thanks for the help everyone,
Accord Man, when you say you have blue interior lighting, is that what you meant...the blue indiglo gauges? 94 Acccord EX: You have a 5 colour dash? Does that mean you change the bulbs or what? How does it work? I figured AZN was talking about changing the bulbs, that's what I'd like to do, ideally...if possible that is. |

I have 5 color indiglo gauges installed. There is a little wired remote that lets you change to one of five colors and also five levels of brightness.

Thanks for clearing that up AZN...
Sorry guys, apparently I gotta work on the souping up lingo... what do you want from me...I used to have a mazda... the best I could do with that thing was soup it up by adding a cassette to the existing AM/FM...(at least I THINK there was FM!) Seriously though, any suggestions on how to learn more about the terminology and uses of the stuff that I see here on the boards. I try to pick up some magazines and read the boards, but some of the stuff still goes over my head. |

Spending time on this board is a sure way..
Simply asking someone will help. After a certain amount of time, you'll be a pro! ... With the words, that is..
