Gotta do the clutch this weekend. Not happy. It still works fine, but some spring must've fallen out and it's jammed up in the pressure plate or something. It's no good whatever it is. I got a clutch kit, I need to know if I need anything else.
And I mean ANYTHING, I don't know much about this stuff. Got a roommate helping, but he knows VWs better. |

So, my roommate and I did the clutch this weekend. Not so bad. About 10 hours total. Got the flywheel machined. Drives like a dream now.
There was a piece from the pressure plate, above the springs, that fell out. Screwed the clutch and plate up good. So nice to be able to shift. |

Good job man. I like to see people trying new things that don't know how they are done. No other way to learn right? and most importantly. Wasn't it fun?

I don' t know about fun, but it was nice that there was something wrong with my car and I fixed it. Feels good.
Couldn't have done it without the roommate and the Chilton though. BTW, I hear that Haynes manuals suck the big one. Anyone know for sure? |
