slow internet under XP ?!
Hello all!
I just installed XP to run a few applications that require it.. When accessing the net I get transfer speeds of 80-90kb/s.. Which is slow as hell. Under Win2K i get around 600-800kb/s.. however, when transfering files within the LAN the speeds are normal, around 1mb/s.. the other computer is a P100... system info : Win XP (no sp installed).

I'm on a cable connection, which is rated at around 5Mbits..
Certified driver? um, I have a driver the "works".. I could try different drivers though..

I would certainly recommend running those SPs man. They do help a lot.
As I recall XP did have a lot of networking bugs when it first hit. |
