Exhaust Question

I'm wondering if anybody has seen the movie The Legend Of Speed? It's a Chinese movie that's a few years old, so I'm not sure if anybody has. But if you have, at the last race when they are revving their engines getting ready to race, they have the meanest exhaust I've ever heard and I was wondering if anybody knew what kinda exhaust system I'd need to get that sound? My roomate said that Borla might produce that kinda sound, but I wanna know before I spend $350 on a Borla system.

Borla, thermal, or Flowmaster would probably give you a nice deep throaty sound.

the geekz0r (11:03:46 PM): basicly, look at it this way...the 6speed is the same is the 5speed in 2,3,4,5,and 6...only the speeds are different because of the fd
the geekz0r (11:04:16 PM): so 2nd pulls like 1st in the 5speed, 3rd is like 2nd, etc.
PortugeeTex (11:04:26 PM): so whats 1st like then?
the geekz0r (11:04:49 PM): 1st is like hitting a cheeta in the ass with a tazer
PortugeeTex (11:04:53 PM): lmfao

sound of the exhaust is basically distinguished by your engine output, piping, resonator, muffler, and tip. for example, because of different engine output, your civic will never sound like a v8 even if you run the exact same exhaust system as a v8 and vice versa.

I'm not really trying to get a V8 sound. The cars in the movie were a Lancer and a WRX. My roomate said that Borla sounds good on a V8, but wasn't sure about the sound on a 4 cyl. One of my friends said to try Skunk2 so I don't know what to do, cause I don't want a deep throaty sound cause I already have that. I'm after the same sound as the cars in the movie.

lancer evo? wrx?
those are both turbo cars......they sound quite a bit different than your average run of the mill honda.

Skunk2 is NOT quiet. What you can do to make things a bit better sounding is.....go with 2.25" piping, add a resonator to it, put on some sort of muffler - dont get an aftermarket header. Things should sound ok with that.

wrx's and evo's are both 1.8 or higher... the wrx especially (well the 2.5 here in america) sounds MUCH deeper than our cars (or even a b20) ever will... it's half of a mustang. that's why it sounds sooo deep..

for deep tone I'd suggest magnaflow or flowmaster... NO can style mufflers... they are called fart cans for a reason... they sound just as farty and lame on v8's.
