7th Gen Civic vs Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V Nismo edition
I have h/i/e on my 03 civic ex. My friend traded his 01 in for a 05 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V Nismo. (Traitor!) It actually is a pretty bad ass ride. I thought it would be fun to see how my civic did against it. It was all good until the end of second gear when he began pulling hella hard on me. By the end of third, he was gone. It was a slaughter. Anyone know of any mods I can do besides boost that will get me up in that class? I would just love to beat his ass with a 1.7 sohc but probally wont happen without boost. Im worried even with boost!!!!!!! Can these D series engines run more than 6 psi with bone stock internals?

well you could hook up a 50 shot n2o. even tho im agianst n2o. but with out any FI or full block build up. your not going to win.
the Spev Vs' are rated at 170HP but if you dyno them they come out to 145HP.

..."hella"...
N2O or boost, pick one and do it right. An engine can blow at 1psi if its not tuned right, or it can survive 12psi on 100% stock IF tuned well. I hope youre on a track |

Is it Spec V or SE-R.. Those are two different things.. The Spec V has an extra gear and a custom exhaust which adds (claims to add) 10 more ponies

have you heard of the SE-R Spec-V? same thing. they arent two different models.
the Spec-V doest come with nismo anything. now the Nismo SE-R Spec-V has intake exhuast and upgraded suspesion. now from all the mags and websites after they dynoed trialed the car (which nissan rates at 170HP 15XTQ) actually hit 145HP and XXXTQ. and thats not to the wheels. my friends Integra LS with CIA can almost beat one. he loses by 1/2-1/4 of a car length. but when he races my H23a1 (which estimated power to wheels is in the 150 range) cant come close.

The only reason that the spec v would pull is because of the enourmus tourqe advantage over a 1.7.... Other than that they arent even "quick" My SI dont have any problems catching one

me from another forum (im the top geekz0r) the geekz0r (11:03:46 PM): basicly, look at it this way...the 6speed is the same is the 5speed in 2,3,4,5,and 6...only the speeds are different because of the fd the geekz0r (11:04:16 PM): so 2nd pulls like 1st in the 5speed, 3rd is like 2nd, etc. PortugeeTex (11:04:26 PM): so whats 1st like then? the geekz0r (11:04:49 PM): 1st is like hitting a cheeta in the ass with a tazer PortugeeTex (11:04:53 PM): lmfao |

sorry, but it should have an A2, or a type r badge. anyway, about the 1.7L civic, i'd say go with nitrous. Learn all you can about it (talk to AZcivic the n20 guru), and then look around, it's the best bang for the buck, especially if you want to prove a point. And you can make it hidden (no weird sounds when you're kickin his ass).
