C5's ought to be proud
My neighbor owns a new c5 and some of his budies(3) were over a few weeks ago. He suckered all of them in to a race with me because they all thought 4 bangers were all little toys with a lot of noise. I owned 2 of them and tied the 3rd guy twice all from a dig(stand still) but from a 40mph roll to about 120mph those cars are awesome they ripped me something terrible. I fell in love with handleing and accelaration capabilities of those cars. Im a hard core import kid but the C5 has my vote for domestic king of the road. But the fact remain that from a stand still I owned those vettes.

Nice job keeping up with the vette for at least a little while... what you got to run a 12.8? Maybe Im just blind or not looking hard enough, but I sure don't see a turbo or supercharger under your hood, so you got a buttload of nitrous or just crazy engine work?

if you really ran a 12.8, you should have been able to beat a C5, at least up to 110, around there. were they all stock?
so how much does it cost to make a honda "fast"? |

Hmmm...I don't see how that's going to net a 12.8 sec quarter mile. I dunno, maybe it's just me. How big a shot are you running? |

yeah i was gonna say bs..... i was waiting for his response first. no bolt-on honda will hit 12's ever. maybe an s2000 or prelude could get very high 13's.... but without a power adder, hondas arent goin anywhere. |

Cool bro... grats
I suppose taking c5's in the 1/4 mile with a fwd car is always as easy as a lightly tuned honda motor and a small shot... ESPECIALLY ON STOCK TIRES THOSE FWD CARS ARE NOTORIOUS FOR OUTTA THE HOLE! ive raced my boy in his 2001 prelude sh with my mustang many a time (albeit he never shot more than i believe a 50 shot) but he couldnt even beat my jeep (cause he cant drive) but i dont think i would have any problem with your car in my crustang....

a 5th generation prelude and an accord witha jdm h22a engine are quite different.

He didn't say he ran a 12.8 and I don't recall him saying they ran a 1/4 mile either.
A race to 120 is just getting a vette warmed up. They seem to do real well in the upper MPH. *EDIT* NM... I see that's in his sig.

yea very tru but im talking about off the line here, no way in hell a 4 banger without using nos OFF THE LINE (UNLESS HE SPRAYS IT OFF THE LINE) will take a c5 vette from a stop with THOSE TIRES ON THE CAR IT WONT HOOK ENOUGH!, it defies physics..... i believe it up to speed that the PRELUDE WOULD WIN WITH THOSE TRAP SPEEDS!!!! BUT HE LOST!! , THEN OFF THE LINE HE WINS??? i dont getit its ASS BACKWARDS

Not a clue. Seems a lil backwards to me too. Maybe the vettes were just punching it off the line and spinning? And that's an Accord he has. He just swapped in a lude engine.

doh i keep forgetting that i dont meen to be a hater, its just this is completely backwards.... even spinning ive never seen a c5 vette at the track to worse than 2.0 short times, and those are hard to come by in fwd cars by ANY MEANS ON STREET TIRES.... and stock to lightly modded they trap around 105-110mph so the "ACCORD" woulda won ??

MOds:
Port and polish Skunk 2 valve train and cams DC sport adjustable cam gears Dc Headers 4-2-1 V-afc Cold air intake ZEX 65,75,100,125 shots Ran the 12.8 via 125 shot ZEX which is equal to a NOS 90 shot from a wet kit. My car Tachs out a 9000 grand V-tech is set at 5500rpm so when we raced from a 40 roll I had about 1500rpm before V-tech causeing me to fall behind at the start and as we know those cars a made for 100mph speeds. Im using an accord trainee so my gears are a bit longer then a prelude. And as for 12.8 in a 4banger with nitrous thats slow here in tucson where most kids are running low 13 all motor. For example: 2point6 13.1 all motor and so does acclude(13.4) from pheonix. Acclude has boltons with a h22 in a 93 accord coupe. Not being a dick but you cant compare a h22 powered accord and a prelude. Preludes are usually slower for some reason maybe weight. I smoke new and old vettes and even new SVT cobra stangs all day long. Im currently working on a 2001 BMW 330ci turbo (T-72) which is gonna make about 600+hp which is ok considering I live in a town that has at least 5 1000hp street cars most running high8's and low 10's. |

the accords are usually 100 lbs lighter than the preludes, plus a jdm h22 will beat the daylights out of a usdm h22.

Yeah something is fishy here... if anything the vette wouldda won the holeshot and you come from behind, but with just those mods I still don't see it happening... he has abt 350hp and nearly same torque, the jdm h22 is 220hp i believe, and even a 125shot would be abt 345hp, and your other mods would help out to maybe 375 if you are lucky... he would definately win the holeshot, unless maybe he were automatic and then his far superior aerodynamics, including downforce and drag (or lack thereof) would still put him ahead... things just don't add up right here, but anything can happen on the road... where is bacon king when you need him, doesnt he live in Phoneix?
PS- I know you are the "great tuner" and all and run a 12.8 blah blah... but yo, if you are gonna lie, at least use proper terminology... it is "VTEC", not V-Tech... thank you and have a nice day

the jdm h22a has 200ps(197hp) true rating btw, not an over rated USDM motor. with a 75 shot on that motor, you can expect about a second off your time, ive kept quiet about this because really i've seen that the driver makes such a huge difference on this car. my friend is running 14.001@102mph with intake and header on a jdm h22a. no other mods(cam gears at zero, thats it) i wanted to hear his mod list, and i believe it now. pnp, and cams would sink him into the 13's with ease considering he knows how to drive. as far as comparing accords to preludes, they run the same with the same engines. the h22a's and h22a1's are different. im thinking the h22a1's really have 185-187hp while the h22a's are more like 197-203hp. another guy i knonw has an accord with a h22a and 11.5:1 compression (with i/h/e). he's not running insanly faster than my friend with the basic bolt ons, both are very good drivers.

I have stage1 cams they arent tuned at all. When I done the head work I ordered the stage 2 but they sent stage1. My car revs to 9000rpm so stage1 wont help much but I had no others cams to put in. I waiting for my stage2 to come in and then tune them. My friends car(Prelude H22) made 18hp on the skunk2 head package and stage2 cams so I guess they are just as good as crower. |

Some reprogramed ecu I bought from some kid for $50 I only bought it for the redline (9000rpm). I use my Apexi V-afc to set air/fuel and Vtech cross over.

is it a prelude? if not, you may wana consider a gsr or civic ecu and get that fine tuned, ive seen some decent performance upgrades from that. at least in droping 1/4 mile times
