Question about Ati 9800 XT?

I'm plan to getting a Ati 9800 XT w/ 256 MB DDR in the store cost about USD$499.99.

I need to replace a old Geforce 2 that not fast enough in FS9 and etc.

Can you help me that video card is faster enough?

Yeah, that video card is overkill for most games, I'd wait for the price to drop on it. If you're set on dropping $500 on a card, that's the one to go with. If you have a weak power supply, watch out.... these things are hungry.

Are you sure? 115 W will hardly even run a computer. It definitely won't handle the 9800.

They recommend at least a 300 W, but I'd get more than that for sure.

and definatly dont pay retail for a video card. go check pricewatch.com for the lowest price on any card you want, you may even find some models you didnt even know you wanted!

Myself, I have my eye on a an ATI Radeon 9800Pro 256 DDR, unfortunatly its right above the big price jump. I might settle for the 128 version, which is still a great card.

Do you have a reason or do you just not like them?
