Why is my car doing this ??
well i had this question for a while now, and failed to come up with a logical answer whatsoever. The inner bood on the passager driveaxle likes to get a small hole in it so it wil loose all the grease, and making the axle go bad. This is the 4th time is doing this and the drive axle is ****ed up beyoud any repair. Well right now i could see it does that because the car is sitting 3" lower, but it did it at stock height, did it with a mild drop and now it's doing it again. i am kinda sick of changing drive axles every 9 months or so. any ideas ? any suggestions ?

Finally, I'm not the only one! I've gone through 3 axles this year and I think i've got another one going out. But now the shop that I go to replaces them under warranty. Does anyone know where you can get some upgraded axles? Would the H22 axles be stronger?

do you drive on a lot of rough roads and under extreme weather conditions, etc? because its only rubber, and slightest thing can rip them. I had one shear off from who knows what.
I'm considering the "improved" drive axles from autozone. whenever I had a boot bust, I usually assume the joint is screwed too, and it usually is. so I just buy a new halfshaft for about 70-80 bucks. But this last time I saw they sell a brand new shaft with neoprene boots for like $300 bucks. might be something to think about, after doing some price hunting. |
