i can't take this anymore
Like i said i can't take not being able to sleep at night anymore. i usually try to go to bed around 11pm but i can't fall asleep until 4-5 in the morning then i wake up at 11, and needless to say i am a zombie all day long. some even ask me if i am drunk or on drugs. I really have no idea what else i should do. i tried the unison pills, i tried alcohol and nothing seems to put me to sleep. any ideas, tips and trick are welcome.

start working out... lift weights, run, play tennis, get active... if you are strenuously active during the day, you will fall asleep the moment you lay down...

maybe because you do it at night... when you run 10 miles, your heart rate skyrockets, which will keep you awake...
what times during the day do you have free?

Excellent advice. However if you absolutely can't get to sleep... don't. What I do is stay up the rest of the night and all day. I'll usually pass out around anywhere between 9 and 10 at night. Get's me back on schedule pretty quick. Although it's really hard to resist falling asleep during the day, and I feel like ass all day... but it's worth it in the long run. Hope this helps.

I agree with some of the above, especially the part with sleeping when you feel like sleeping, don't make it forceful and exercise during the day. Do you use your sleeping area [bed, perhaps] for things other than sleep? If so, don't.. you want your mind to identify the bed as a place to sleep. I remember in psychology class, something about getting up from bed if you can't fall alseep within 30 minutes..get up and do something mellow, and maybe you'll fall asleep after that. Wake up early and don't sleep in.. I hope this helps, I generally don't sleep until 2-3 am but lately I've been doing some of the above and this week, I've been crashing at like midnight.

If you see a doctor theyre going to tell you to change jobs.
You could try sleeping aids, if you havent already...but Im sure you have. If you get a doctor that actually listens, maybe they can look into hormonal level imbalances. |
