Fq 400 Evo Viii????
A friend of mine just told me about a Lancer that is going to be a limited production EVO VIII for the EVO's 30th anniversary. It's an MR type EVO(not Mid Engine Rear Wheel Drive...the MR means Mitsubishi Racing...just to save some confusion)...manufactured by Ralli Art and engine work by HKS(yikes!) it has new mirrors, a carbon fiber lip, and a Garrett Turbo.
Here's the clincher...they raced a prototype(I think) against a Pagani Zonda and a Lambo Murcielago...AND IT WON. Zero to Sixty in 3.5 Secs 1/4 Mile in about 10 Seconds. 400 HP Antilag System AWD. All from a 2.0 litre! For $80,000(not bad compared to how much the Zonda and Murcielago cost) Too bad production numbers are limited to 100(not per year...altogether... ) Cause I'm wantin one pretty bad...hehe |

If you ask me I think its pretty much ridiculous. Would never pay 80g's for a mitsu.

makes me wonder what the warranty is like...
i know the evo's now have very strict warranty policies, i bet with that thing, if you go over 85% throttle it probably voids the warranty lol:o

I like how one of the article pages says "400bhp is the easy bit. 400bhp that can be used everyday, with a 3 year warranty, is the hard bit.". Riiiiight. It's not like American cars have been pulling that off since the 60s or anything. I'd take the Pagani over the Evo anyday...and it really doesn't look like they changed a whole lot on the Evo.

It's all about refinement. There's a reason the Evo only costs $80K. The Zonda isn't entirely worthy of it's pricetag, but it's engineering and ergonomic refinement is top shelf. That's why the Italians will always be supperior to everyone at making cars. Yeah, it costs more for a Pagani, a Lambo, or a Ferrari...but it's a world class car. That Evo looks like they just took the same old Evo and made a few upgrades. I didn't read the entire article, but I'd like to see those cars go toe to toe in a road race.

You'll be laughing with about $45K left over. Or you could just take $60K and buy one of those sweet ass new Boss Shinoda 600rwhp turbo'ed Mustangs that would stomp the living shit out of an Evo at just about every turn.

awesome. i would take the evo. i dont like mistubishi. never have never will. beside when i had the chance for a 95 GSX. but that quickly went away after i gotr my accord. ever sence then i have been a honda man.
you know what else. i better no one is going to make performace parts for a car only 100 people will own. so 400 is the max youll ever get. pointless. give me 50G and watch my lude smoke it.

SUPRA
latest issue of turbo mag has a guy with a supra that was dynoed at 1076rwhp. Obviously that isn't streetable (since it's on race gas) so it's detuned around 800 so nice supra = $30,000 shit ass load of mods = $35,000 total = $65,000 total cash you have to play with = $80,000 you save = $15,000 let's recap: new mitsu evo= $80k pantie wetting supra=$65k making a rich bastard in a ferrari (or pagaini) look like a hobo =priceless

Try as you might...that will sadly never happen. But don't feel bad...that goes for everyone. Years from now people will look back in awe at my awesomeness and ponder how it came to be.

I think that it is wrong all this. I think it was Car and driver that had this in there and it got like a 5-10 hp increase or something and a new color and rims. I still like the one they had in there

I read the Car and Driver article...I also caught the hp increase, but the much cooler thing was that they mated the engine to a new six-speed transmission. The price increase was nothing like a jump from 30k to 80k, more like 35k....
Not the Car and Driver article, but here's something a little closer to what I read... Mitsubishi Evo MR |
