Turbo B16 or N/A LS/Vtec??

I am trying to decide the direction I should go. I love N/A power but I have never owned a boosted car. I am wanting to do a LS/Vtec as stated in post righ t under this one. I am just wanting some input from some others. Also what do you have to do as far as other mods to install a turbo injectors etc...

If youre thinking about boost, you really should take the time to do a lot of research and reading up before just deciding.

Have you thought about what what turbo size you'll use? The right one could be make the car respond almost as well as N/A.

Where are some good sites to research turbos?

I really suggest you pick up a book called "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell It will explain a whole lot of things about it, if you dont already know.
Other than that, I pretty much learned what I know from just reading this or that on forums.

How much power would you want to make?

Id like to get it around 200 @ the wheels if not a little more. I think that would be plenty in a crx. And thanks for the tip I will buying that book.

Oh 200 should be super easy.
You could use a fairly small turbo (like a 14b or T25), which would spool pretty quickly.
The more power you want to make, the larger the larger the snail needs to be - the larger the snail, the longer it takes to spool and kick the power on.

I agree that 200-ish will be nice...at first. Its so easy to make more power with boost, because its pretty much there...you just need to make some adjustments...that is, until the turbo runs out of air anyway (but then you just buy a bigger one)

Well now that I look at em I think I am going to go with the turbonetics t3/t4 because they are saying it will put out 75-100hp on a stock motor @ 8psi. That would put me at 250-270. the turbonetics kit is expensive but it has everything in it I need. So I think that is the way I am going.

hasn't dynoed it yet.. he still has some other things he wants to do before he does.. needs bigger injectors and tune it.. but he's dropped something like close to 10 grand into the motor so it should be good numbers

200 whp is too easy man. Shit I can make that much power on a D-series turbo on stock internals.....

Keep in mind that T3T4 turbos are hybrid turbos. They come in many different sizes. I would atleast get a 57/60.
