Hmmm...what to get.
Well, I'm confused once again.
Now when even if I say I have decided on a sound upgrade, doesn't mean it's final. Thus why I jump from performance to sound I guess. I'm THINKING, just thinking about doing an upgrade in the future on the sound aspect of my car. My friend works for bestbuy and gets deals. So, I'm thinking of what to get. He says he can hook me up with whatever is in the store for cost price (what the item cost best buy) They carry Sony Explodes, Rockford Fosgates, MTX Punch Eichei 2's (I think) and some other subs can't remeber. Now I can either get that, or buy a PS2 with an LCD screen and have that in my car (both around same price in the end) What do you people think I should get. I only have a Kenwood deck in my car so far. |

My friend's friend is selling 2 10" JL W0's for 200 bucks CAD with an enclosed box.
They are used though. Is that still a good deal for them or what? |

Sounds like a good deal. When you say used, are they still in good condition?

Yeah, I've also heard of Best Buy messing up some installations. I know they are all different, but I'd rather go to a local shop that knows what they're doing.

I wouldn't buy those subs b/c you dont know if he pushed those subs too hard...they might look like their in good condition but they might not be...I'd buy new subs...a lot safer....as for Bestbuy, I didnt know you can get cost prices, thats pretty cool, my brother has a friend that works in bestbuy and she can only get 10% off of certain things(not including car audio)...anyways, Iv'e never bought anything from best buys except for dvd's and some Dynamat...I dont really like sony explode...I would go with the MTX's...when my brother had his eclipse he had 2 12inch MTX subs in a bandpass box in his trunk and they sounded pretty freakin' good....well juss my 2 cents...hope i helped...

If you can get MTX at cost...I'd get those. I got cost on MTX from where I worked and I ran three 12" MTX 8000 series and an MTX mono block amp that pumped out 1500rms

is your friend manager or something @ best buy? otherwise, if hes just an installer or floor salesperson, theres no way in hell hes getting you anything @ cost.
i vomit on best buy stuff cuz for the prices they sell things, you dont get what you pay for - its like a local crutchfield. RF stuff is good - depending on the model. some kid sold me an RF sub w/o knowing which it was, i forget what model but it was their top of the line DVC sub from a few years ago - i got it for $80 and it was worth over $250. that thing hit so hard....oh yeah! but a 12" is too much bass, annoying as hell. im going with a 10" in my next setup. clean, tight bass ownz me. |

So you're saying I should get 10's also instead of 12's, k.
Now my friend isn't a manager but up hear in Canada Best Buy just opened and as a job perk to interest people that's what they're doing. |

You dont have to get 10's instead of 12's...it juss depends if you like bass or not...as for me im going to put 3 12 inch subs in my trunk... ...i love bass...anyways...if you get a 12 inch sub it doesn't mean its going to hit hard, if you dont have a amp that gives out good power to the sub then its not gonna hit hard...depends on wat u get and how u bridge it and stuff like that...juss my 2cents... |

Ok I like tight bass, not thump so I'm going with 2 10's then.
What kind of amp would I need for the 2 10 Jl W0's and the 2 10 Rockford Fosgate Punch (Eichie 2 I believe they are called) |

why can't you go with 12"? they'll get louder than 10's with the same given power. |
